A Diagnosis of Our Culture’s View of Sexuality

It's not surprising to me at all that given the sexual obsession of our culture and given the pleasure orientation of sin that somebody would struggle with lust. There [are] a couple things that are important to remember. One is that I can't blame my environment because it's always the evil inside of me that hooks me to the evil outside of me.

My Biggest Sexual Dysfunction Is My Heart

So I have to own that my biggest sexual dysfunction isn't environmental. It's not cultural. It's my heart. It's the way I own things for myself and I take them for my pleasure, and I want to write my own rules, and I want what I want when I want it. You could argue that lust is rooted in self-glory and self-sovereignty. So if I'm dealing with lust, I have to own that my biggest problem is me and so, if that's the case, I'm not going to solve my lust problem in isolation.

I need help. I need help of a Redeemer and I need His instruments of help in my life. And I want to say to people who are there, own your struggle. Know that your Savior is not shocked by what you're dealing with, and run where help can be found.
