Romans 1 talks about this great exchange that is the result of sin in our hearts. We tend to again and again exchange worship and service for the Creator, for worship and service of the creation. And so, what we tend to do is we tend to value-rate our lives and value-rate our potential, not based on who God is and what He's done for us, but what of the creation we have around us.
Shifting From Reliance on God to the Creation
I mean, maybe you could argue that God does awesome wonders in our life everyday and yet, the next day we'll fret and worry and complain because we keep shifting from a reliance on Him to the creation, and we just do that all the time.
And yes, the power of sin has been broken if you're a believer in the justifying mercies of Christ, but the presence of sin still remains as being progressively eradicated so that heart battle is still with us. It's very important to recognize that, that this war continues to go on inside of us.
