There's a second trap. It's the trap of worry. It's initiated by the fact that an unexpected thing has happened, something that you never thought you would deal with. I can, I can confess to this, that, that I've struggled with, that I when something dramatically important happens in your physical body, all of a sudden, you live with greater body awareness than you ever lived with before, and things that you have never thought about make you wonder and you can worry about your physical condition in a way that's paralyzing. Jesus says that all of the worry in the world won't add a single foot to your lifespan. Worry has never changed anything. Worry doesn't make you better able to deal with what God has put in your plate. Worry doesn't make you create courageous. Worry doesn't make you hopeful. Worry doesn't yank you up in the morning with a renewed desire to live life, to experience life, to serve again, to love again, to participate again. No worry is debilitating. In your moment of weakness, you don't just fight the weakness that suffering brings. You have to fight a battle with worry, because worry will take you places that you don't want to go.
