I have a dear friend who has risen to the top of leadership in a couple [of] corporations and the reason he has is because he has employed gospel principles. I think that every gospel principle is actually for everyone. We know that people don't just need a system of redemption. They need a Redeemer, but we also are agents of God's mercy.
Lifting the Lives of Everyone
We want to lift the lives of everyone; and these principles of honesty and communication, of humility, that you better not get your identity from your work, that you have to value your team, that you want to give them voice, that it's not just about you -- I mean, those are all values that carry well into the corporate industry business community.
I have a dear friend who has risen to the top of leadership in a couple [of] corporations and the reason he has is because he has employed gospel principles; and leaders have bought in and they've seen the health as a result. That's also given him wonderful opportunity for speaking the gospel into their lives. But if God's ways are true, then they're true and they have broad application to life. So these truths about leadership are surely for the church community, but they can be tools of mercy to the secular work community.
We know that community has all forms of dysfunction. I mean, there's articles about that everyday. We read the fall of influential corporate leaders. If this body of truth can help leaders in the church, surely, it will help leaders anywhere because God's truth is God's truth. It's called truth because it's true.
